TR-069 device management

Fix customers’ WiFi without sending a technician

Wave connects to a GenieACS server to manage the routers and ONTs in your customers’ homes. Change a WiFi password, restart a device or check fibre signal from the customer’s page.

Quick answer

What is TR-069 device management?

TR-069 (CWMP) is a standard that lets an ISP’s auto-configuration server (ACS) manage customer routers remotely. Devices check in with the ACS, which can read their status and change settings. Wave uses a GenieACS server to link each device to the right customer and lets your staff change WiFi settings, restart devices and read fibre signal without a site visit.

What you get

TR-069 devices, done properly.

  • WiFi changes in seconds

Change the network name and password for one band or all of them.

  • Restart and check now

Restart a device or ask it to report in immediately.

  • See inside the home

Connected devices and fibre signal levels on the customer’s page.

  • Push the PPPoE login

Send a customer’s PPPoE username and password to their router.

  • Owner-only power tools

Factory reset and firmware updates are limited to ISP owners.

  • Linked automatically

Devices are matched to customers by their PPPoE username. Others are added by serial number.

How it works

From setup to selling.

  1. 01

    Wave connects the ACS

The Wave team links a GenieACS server once for the platform.

  2. 02

    Routers check in

Point customer routers at the ACS address. IPoE ports can hand it out automatically.

  3. 03

    Devices find their customer

Matched by PPPoE username, or claimed by serial number.

  4. 04

    Manage from the customer page

WiFi, restarts, signal and firmware, without a site visit.

Questions

TR-069 devices: your questions answered.

Which customer routers work with TR-069?

Most ISP-grade routers and ONTs support TR-069. Wave reads both TR-098 and TR-181 data models and includes settings paths for Huawei, ZTE, TP-Link and MikroTik devices.

Can other ISPs see my customers’ devices?

No. A device is linked to the customer whose PPPoE username it reports, and if two ISPs share a username the device’s IP must match that customer’s live session. ISPs never see unlinked devices.

What happens if the device is offline?

The change waits and is applied the next time the device checks in. You can see and cancel waiting tasks.
